A mixed broadleaf and conifer Ancient Woodland extending to 17.10 hectares (42.27 acres) enjoying significant river frontage in the attractive Seaton Valley. The woodland is predominantly elevated with past working tracks still visible and is conveniently situated for the village of Hessenford and the A38, both of which are approximately one mile distant.
Lydcott Wood will appeal to those who are commercially minded with its strong conifer content of Douglas fir and Sitka spruce. Broadleaved areas within the wood are rich and diverse with many ancient elements including remnant oak coppice.
