June Auction Roundup 2022

With plenty of buyers from around the UK, and a vast array of properties and land to match, this month’s auction was a roaring success. From fisherman’s lofts to land and garages, all manner of different property types graced our auction room, promoting some competitive bidding as usual.

Want to know more about the properties that are sold? Read on to see just a few of our favourites.

A stunning 2-bedroom fisherman’s loft

Light blue fishermans house for sale

Up first we had Lot 9, a property beside the sea. This property is located in an ideal central location just off of Brixham’s Fore Street and the waterfront itself, making it the perfect home for a family about town.

From the roof terrace, the lucky new owners will be able to enjoy not only a view of the inner harbour, but a sea view that stretches for miles. The property itself contains a kitchen-diner, bathroom, inner hallway with a study area, and two bedrooms.

Accessibility-wise, this property has its very own storeroom and workshop with an entrance on St Peters Hill, complete with power. Lot 9 sold for £250,000. We are excited to see what the buyers do with the place; it is certainly favourable for people looking to add to their holiday let portfolios.

End-of-terrace period cottage

Period cottage with large green garden

For our second property, we have Lot 25. This lot just oozes charm, taking the form of an end-of-terrace cottage made from sandstone. Located in a quiet residential area (just off Whitehill Road in East Sussex), the cottage is nestled away.

That being said, it isn’t too far from the bustling shopping facilities and amenities down the road, including a mainline railway station just a mile away, and excellent road links to Lewes and Tunbridge Wells via the A26/A22.

The cottage is arranged over two floors and has all the necessary comforts such as gas heating and double glazing. To complete the cottage idyll, there is a west-facing secluded garden to the rear of the property that has its own spacious sandstone storage building. This Sussex auction property sold for £215,000.

A modern three-bed house in Maidstone

Modern brick home with slate front garden

The third feature in this month’s round-up is Lot 31, a modern end-of-terrace house in Maidstone. This spacious property has three large bedrooms and all the homely comforts a family could ask for, including:

  • Double-glazed windows
  • A gas heating system
  • Two bathrooms (one upstairs and one downstairs)
  • A living room with double doors to a dining room
  • A kitchen and a lean-to conservatory
  • A semi-detached garage at the back of the property with pedestrian access.
  • And, we saved the best till last, french doors that lead to a garden to the side and rear of the property.

Lot 31 sold for £328,000 and we hope the new owners are very pleased with their purchase indeed!

5.4 acres of luscious land

Large green field for sale

Moving away from the property side of things, our next round-up feature is Lot 39. This lot boasts an impressive 5.4 acres of uninterrupted green fields. Lot 39 is a freehold parcel of land that is nestled in between Chapmore End (a countryside hamlet), Ware, and Hertford in Hertfordshire.

Although unmistakably rural, this haven is actually only 2 miles from the centre of Ware and just 3 miles from the centre of Hertford, making it surprisingly connected.

We wish the new owners all the best in their ‘escape to the country’ as this Lot really does encapsulate the rural idyll. Sold for £391,500, we look forward to seeing what happens to this land. Subject to all necessary consent being obtainable, the land has potential for all manner of uses.

Two garages and a parcel of land

A garage on a plot of land

Last, but by no means least, we have Lot 53. This lot takes the form of a combination of garages and land, all located in Pulborough, West Sussex.

The main substance of this lot is a large detached building which houses the two garages. The garages are of part-timber and part-concrete construction with both pitched and flat roofs. Usefully, there is also parking to the front of these garages.

The rest of the lot is filled by an irregular-shaped parcel of land that extends to 0.1 hectares in total. This land allows for vehicular access to the garages. The location of the plot is in the residential area of Juggs Lane, a well-established location just down from West Chiltington, a village with shops and local amenities.

Selling for £31,000 we wish the new owners of this unusual Lot all the best with their new acquisition.
