Clive Emson Auctioneers are go, go go!

On Thursday 30th June Clive Emson Auctioneers held their annual charity go kart event in aid of Haven’s Hospices.  This year we moved the event to the Buckmore Park circuit just outside Maidstone, which is one of the UK’s leading kart circuits with facilities second to none.

We received entries from fourteen teams from all over the south east of England competing for the Phil Stone’s trophy.  Following the pre-race briefing, a twenty minute practice session followed for everyone to get used to the track.  The starting places on the grid were decided by a ‘bid for the grid’ with the highest donation to the charity taking pole position, thank you to Cowell Motorsport. Two hours of racing followed and on the last lap the top four teams were separated by just a few seconds with Elite Motorsport coming home the winners and the fastest lap of the race picked up by their driver William Macintyre.

The fundraising continued after the race with a motorsport quiz and raffle and the results of the charity race so people could buy laps increased the money raised further.  The charity race was won by Emson Fittipaldi which consisted of British Touring Car racing driver Michael Crees and Jody Fannin who competed in the Le Mans 24 hours in 2021.  It was noted that these talented racing drivers were happy to put their hand in their pocket to buy laps in order to beat the rest of the field.

At the end of a brilliant night and a great atmosphere, the event raised over £1,600 for Haven’s Hospices and if you wish to find out more about the services that they offer please click on the link below: https://www.havenshospices.org.uk/

We look forward to welcoming all the teams back for the Clive Emson charity karting event in 2023 and hopefully we will see a few more teams on the grid too.
