The Retreat is situated towards the eastern end of Undercliff Drive, a short distance from the dead end on the road, making this a quiet residential location with very little passing traffic. The area was affected by a landslip in 2023 and as a result, the Retreat and other neighbouring properties suffered some movement and structural damage.

The structural movement is particularly noticeable at the rear of the property where the vehicular access has become all but impassable for vehicles and unfortunately the current owners car has been marooned as a result. While the Retreat has suffered some movement, the property was occupied by the current owners until May 2025 when a change in life circumstances has caused them to move on.
