This year has been as busy as ever. Alongside our final auction, scheduled for 11th December, the month was marked by The Negotiator Awards 2024, an event hosted in London that celebrates the best businesses in the estate and letting industry.
We were delighted to be crowned Residential Auction Service of the Year, as well as to take home a Silver Award in the Community Champion of the Year, in acknowledgement of the skill and experience our accomplished teams provide to all our clients.
Clive Emson Auctioneer’s Success at The Negotiator Awards
Being nominated in three categories was a privilege in itself and a testament to the outstanding work of the whole team, who work diligently to offer assistance and guidance to buyers and sellers throughout each auction.
Of course, the highlight was achieving the accolade of Residential Auction Service of the Year. This reflects on the growing interest in the residential auction space and how an increasing proportion of sellers prioritise speed, certainty, assurance, and professionalism.
The Clive Emson Team covering Kent, Sussex, Essex, Hampshire and the West Country has been named Residential Auction Service of the Year in The Negotiator Awards 2024, held in London’s Mayfair.
The Residential Auction Service of the Year is an honour judged by a panel of 30 leading voices within the residential property industry. It is considered a stamp of approval that reflects the quality standards, reputation, and trust we foster as agents or partners.
James Emson, Managing Director, said: “Judging was by a 30-strong panel of leading lights in the residential property industry and, to echo what The Negotiator’s publishing director stated, an accolade from The Negotiator Awards is a stamp of approval, a badge of excellence and sign that clients can trust their choice when engaging an agent or supplier.”
He added: “Receiving the Residential Auction Service award is also testament to the incredible work my colleagues do in preparing more than 1,270 land and property lots in eight auctions this year across the South of England.”
Additional mentions well worth celebrating include:
Community Champion of the Year: Silver Award
Website of the Year: Finalist
We were blown away by both the nominations and level of recognition in an awards ceremony widely seen as the ‘Oscars of the property world’ and to achieve such amazing success against competitors and colleagues who themselves strive to represent the very best of the property market, inside and outside the auction space.
The Community Champion of the Year Silver Award
Although our first-place award was a significant achievement, it was also wonderful to be given the Silver Award as Community Champion of the Year in recognition of the dedicated work we do in the background—inspired and led by chairman and founder Clive Emson MBE.
The firm’s founder and chairman Clive Emson MBE is pictured with TV star and comedian Ellie Taylor and Grant Leonard, chief executive of Propertydrum, publisher of The Negotiator.
Presented in the Queen’s birthday honours in 2019, his MBE was linked to Clive’s committed support for disadvantaged and vulnerable young people in Kent, alongside his work providing sponsorships for local grassroots sports teams in need of practical help.
While more often a presence behind the scenes, it is wonderful to see Clive’s non-commercial initiatives recognised and to acknowledge and celebrate the importance of the work we and other firms do to inject enthusiasm, knowledge and resources into areas of the communities in the greatest need.
This award is a truly incredible achievement and cements our position as a leading auction team led by real people with shared values and a focus on outstanding support, both for the clients who trust our auctioneers to manage their sales and purchases and for our local communities.
About The Negotiator Awards 2024
The awards ceremony is hosted by the industry's longest-running trade publication and the leading media provider in residential property. The prizes, presented by Ellie Taylor, comedian and TV personality, included 34 categories, with 147 agencies and suppliers celebrated, including ourselves, as part of the 16th annual ceremony.
Negotiator publishing director Grant Leonard said: “This has been a great evening of excitement and celebration, seeing the best in the business recognised and rewarded.
“The Negotiator Awards is also a process of self-analysis for a company, to highlight its strengths and to reveal areas where it can strive harder to succeed. The process of entering only improves the service on offer.”
While Clive Emson Auctioneers, of course, provides both commercial and residential auction services, we appreciate the significance of support, advice, and assistance for those buying residential properties.
The Negotiator’s membership is broad scope, and with around 24,500 UK agencies, to be recognised as an award nominee is a fantastic distinction for our team, especially as a family-run firm.
From our formation 35 years ago in Maidstone, we have expanded to no less than five office sites stretching from Essex in the east to Cornwall in the west and remain committed to the personalised, friendly and jargon-free service we are known for.
Having grown to a team of 40 staff throughout our locations, we now prepare more than 1,200 lots of property and land for inclusion in the eight separate auctions hosted every six weeks throughout the year.
The Way Forward for Our Auction Teams Heading Into 2025
As many regular clients and partners will know, Clive Emson Auctioneers were pleased to be invited to sponsor the Rising Star of the Year category, celebrating newcomers to the residential property sector. This year, the prizes included Gold, Silver and Bronze awards, with two runners-up receiving Highly Commended.
Alongside the successes already mentioned, we were also delighted to be nominated within the Website of the Year class and to receive superb peer-led feedback, which verified the value and importance of the sweeping updates and improvements we have made to our digital services and auction facilities in recent months and years.
As we steer rapidly towards our final 2024 auction sale, we are excited to see what the year ahead has in store and to continue to maintain our position as a leading residential property auction provider with a passion for service and impeccable standards.
We would like to take this opportunity to extend our thanks and seasonal best wishes to all our teams, partners, and clients and to express our appreciation for your nominations and support during a competitive but highly rewarding awards event.
