This parcel of land measuring 0.01 hectares (0.024 acres) fronts onto Tennyson Road to the rear of Avenue Road, the main commercial thoroughfare through the village of Freshwater, which is situated at the western end of the Isle of Wight.

In 2007 the land formed part of a larger site which achieved Planning Consent for four town houses, although the scheme was never progressed and has long since lapsed. The site is now considered ripe for redevelopment in isolation, subject to all necessary consents being obtainable.

Pre-Planning Application advice from the Isle of Wight Council Planning Department in early 2026 appears to offer every encouragement that Planning may be achievable, subject to formal application. Several similar infill plots along Tennyson Road have previously been redeveloped with a number of flats or town houses.
